About Me

I’m Thabo, a data enthusiast with a background in analytics, finance, and problem-solving. My journey started in financial planning, where I helped clients make informed decisions. Over time, I realized how powerful data is in shaping those decisions—and that’s what led me into data science and business intelligence.

Today, I focus on using tools like SQL, Python, Power BI, and Tableau to clean data, uncover insights, and tell stories that make complex information easy to understand.

What drives me is curiosity. I enjoy digging into messy datasets, asking the right questions, and finding answers that actually matter. I also believe insights are only valuable when people can act on them, so I put just as much effort into clear communication as I do into the technical work.

This site is a showcase of that journey—projects, lessons learned, and ideas on how to use data in smarter ways.

My Story

I began my career in finance, working as a financial planner and helping clients design budgets, retirement plans, and investment strategies. That experience taught me the importance of good information: people make better choices when they have clear, accurate insights.

Over time, I became more curious about the data behind those decisions. I wanted to go deeper—understand the numbers, clean them up, and find patterns that weren’t always obvious. That curiosity pushed me into the world of data science and analytics.

Since then, I’ve trained in data tools like SQL, Python, Power BI, and Tableau, and I’ve applied them to real projects—whether it’s checking water quality data in Johannesburg, cleaning coffee shop sales records, or building dashboards that bring numbers to life.

For me, data isn’t just about numbers. It’s about making sense of complexity, solving real problems, and giving people confidence in their decisions. That’s the journey I’m still on, and this site is where I share the work and lessons along the way.
